# Article: How do the hub ports on TB4CDOCK work with a Thunderbolt 3 macOS host?

When the dock is connected to a Thunderbolt 3 host device like a MacBook Pro running macOS 11 Big Sur or higher, the hub ports will each function as a Thunderbolt 3 port and can be used to connect USB, display, and Thunderbolt 3 devices. Keep in mind with the original M1-based MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Mini systems, only one external display is supported.

Note: the TB4CDOCK is not currently supported on Windows-based **Thunderbolt 3** hosts.
