Hi! I need to connect my laptop which has an HDMI output to my monitor that has a DisplayPort input. What cable/converter should I purchase to accomplish this? TIA, Mitch ---

Hello @mitch8 and thank you for your interest in our Community. To connect an HDMI laptop to a DP monitor, you can use either an HDMI to DP adapter (such as our **[128-HDMI-DISPLAYPORT](https://www.startech.com/128-HDMI-DISPLAYPORT)**) in addition to a DP cable of your choice, or a direct cable, such as our 2m **[HD2DPMM2M](https://www.startech.com/HD2DPMM2M)**. In an other post, you mentioned having a _Dell P2213F_. That monitor works in 1080p and supports DP, DVI and VGA. In this particular case, you could even use an HDMI to DVI solution instead, such as our **[HDMIDVIMM6](https://www.startech.com/HDMIDVIMM6)**. HDMI and DVI being inter-compatible, this solution is actually the easiest since it doesn’t involve any signal conversion (simply a connector change).
