Greetings. I am trying to get USB 3’s UASP storage mode working on some of my external disk boxes. The Linux kernel blacklists the common JMicron USB 3 to SATA bridge chips, sigh. So, I need to know what chip/chipset you are using in the two cable adapters that go from USB to eSATA, because if they are JMicron, we can save ourselves time/effort/money and not have to return them. USB 3 in either the A or type C to eSATA would save the day for me if it’s not a blacklisted chipset. I actually had to read the source code to the UAS driver in the Linux kernel to find the blacklist. I’d love to buy both of those adapter cables.

Thank you,

Eirikur Hallgrimsson

Hello Eirikur and thank you for your interest in our Community.

The chipset used in both of our **USB3S2ESATA3** and our **USB3C2ESAT3** would be the _ASMedia ASM1153E_ (you can find this information on any of our product’s page under the “Technical Specifications” tab). This chipset does indeed support UASP.

I hope this helps! Please feel free to respond should you require any further information.
