I purchased a starling dock with Display Link. I had a previous version that worked well I can plug my Mac, iPad and it works great. This new one is just too much trouble to configure, does not pass video cause security is not supported etc.
Does anyone know of another Startech or other brand that works well with MACs and has the security required to run video. I have a MacBook Pro M1 with two monitors, and sometimes stream from my Ipad.

Due to Macbooks that use an M1 processor only supporting one external display natively, any docking station that supports multiple monitors is going to use a USB graphic chipset and drivers such as DisplayLink in order to work, and will also need to be granted screen recording permissions as well for the drivers to work.
While we can look for an alternative dock if that is what you prefer, I am not certain if an alternative dock would be a suitable option, and it may be better for us to troubleshoot to try and get the dock that you have working.
Please let us know if you would prefer to troubleshoot or would like a recommendation for an alternative dock. In both cases, can I please ask for the following:
1. Product ID of the dock you are using
2. Version of MacOS installed on your computer
3. Make and models of the monitors being used
