An active cable contains circuitry that boosts the original signal strength from your video source. It allows the signal to go further than a passive HDMI cable (the most common type).
HDMI signals can start behaving inconsistently beyond 5 meters. This depends on a number of factors including the video source, cable quality, video resolution, and display. If you’re encountering problems with a passive HDMI cable, we recommend trying an active HDMI cable, for example, HDMM5MA.
