Can you tell me what the LP4 connector is for, what is the voltage required and if it is really necessary? I saw these two videos and the guy do not use it.

The LP4 connector of MPEX1394B3 is designed for providing the card with sufficient power.
While the card in the video may not be connected to LP4 power, the card is intended and expected to have LP4 power connected for proper functionality.
