PXESAT32 and PXSAT32 Not Working on MSI Pro B760-P WIFI-DDR4

Hi,

Since upgrading (new CPU, motherboard, memory, etc.) my pc to Win 11 these two products are not seen by the new MSI Pro B760-P DDR4 II motherboard and do not appear in Windows device manager. The eSATA card delays POST by about one minute -

PXSAT32
PXESAT32

I have tried everything in the way of BIOS settings to get either board to be seen, over many hours. Both boards worked in the previous ASUS motherboard.

I wish I had found this post days ago, because it would have saved me lots of hassle.

The post confirms that these Startech products, that are still readily available for purchase in the UK, are not compatible with a MSI Pro B760-P DDR4 II motherboard.

What I would like to know is how Startech are going to make this right? Suggestions are:-

1/ If current boards have a later firmware that will work with my motherboard, then how do I arrange a swap out?
2/ If they are still incompatible, then how do I get a refund from Startech?
3/ Startech send me a compatible motherboard of the same or better spec.

The boards I have are a few years old, but working on a Win 10 pc as I said earlier. My particular motherboard can’t be the only type that is incompatible.

Regards,

David

Hello David (@drg35660) and thank you for your interest in our Community.

I would first like to confirm that both the PEXSAT32 and PEXESAT32 cards have been discontinued for some time and were never officially tested or validated for use with Windows 11 or newer motherboard platforms. As such, we cannot guarantee compatibility or functionality on these newer systems.

That being said, we understand that many users still rely on legacy hardware, and we’d like to offer a few suggestions that may help:

  1. BIOS & PCIe Configuration: Ensure your motherboard BIOS firmware is fully updated. Resetting to default settings can sometimes help. Also, verify that the PCIe slot is not locked to a specific speed or version (common on some x16 slots dedicated to graphics card).

  2. Drive Presence: These cards require a connected drive to initialise properly during POST. Ensure connecting a known-good SATA (or eSATA) drive before booting.

  3. Drivers Compatibility: While we do not offer Windows 11 drivers for these cards, you may attempt to install the latest available Windows 10 drivers directly from our web site. However, please keep in mind that due to driver signature enforcement in Windows 11, this may get blocked.

We hope this helps clarify the situation and we appreciate your understanding.
