SDOCKU33EF dock has very noisy fan please help for mod

I have the Startech SDOCKU33EF, to which I connect a 3.5" drive. Having a built in fan into the dock is fantastic, but I find out that it’s very noisy, regardless if the fan speed (PWM I guees) is to 100% or less.

Could be possible to replace this fan with some very silent one, like Noctua? I just can’t sleep with this and it’s noticeable in the office that I have “something” running. I would like to have really some help even if I have to perform some unauthorized modification. I really need a silent dock BUT WITH SOME COOLING.

As you’ve already mentioned, we do not recommend or support modifying the fan of our device. It is possible as these fans are of standard design (80mm), but please keep in mind that doing so would void the warranty.
