Hello, I just got a CM6206&6206LX and connected to a surraund amplifier, but Xear Audio Center only lets me select it in stereo, no 5.1.
I just want to get this issue fixed.
I’m on Windows 10.
Hello @Damiansito
Thank you for posting on the Startech.com Community!
CM6206&6206LX is not one of our product IDs, however I expect that you are referring to our ICUSBAUDIO7D external sound card, as CM6206 is the chipset used in the device. If I am mistaken, please let me know.
When using the digital S/PDIF output, the Xear software does not support manually setting the output to be surround sound. Instead, surround is only active when playing a media which has been encoded in Surround and is compatible with the Surround standard and type used on your sound system. For example, your sound system needs to support DTS in order to decode digital DTS surround, and etc.
In addition, please ensure that when trying to use surround sound that you are using software that supports surround sound. For example browser software (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.) does not support surround sound, so if you were wanting to use surround while watching Netflix, you would need to use the Netlix application from the Windows store.
