We have recently purchased a 19" Privacy Screen manufactured by StarTech. However, when we attached it there were coloured stripes all across the monitor and it was extremely uncomfortable on our eyes.
This isn’t very suitable for staff members that use the computer daily. Is there a reason why the privacy screen is creating such a poor display?
Thank you for contacting us here on the StarTech.com Community for the first time!
I am sorry to hear about the trouble with the coloured strips on the monitor. This kind of output does not sound right.
We would definitely like to know more about the privacy screens, monitors, and other factors like the setup setups taking and the lighting. Could you share the product ids or part numbers, quantities, and any details about these other factors we will be happy to take a look.
If this effect is something that you can capture in a photo, you are welcome to share the photos also.
I will do my best to help make it easier to view your monitors using the privacy filters.
Please let us know how you wish to proceed. We can continue on this page too, include as much detail as you can including quantities, and the installation steps.
Again, we look forward to your reply. And as David mentioned if you wish to speak with one of our Technical Advisors directly, please don’t hesitate to reach out via the Live chat widget on our website or one of our other contact methods found here: StarTech.com Support United Kingdom
We only ordered one privacy screen.
We were attaching it to a DELL P190St Monitor.
The privacy screen was installed using the adhesive strips in Method 1 of the guide.
From the picture, it looks like one of the protective film may still be attached to the screen. Have you made sure to remove the protective film from both sides of the privacy screen?
