I need to connect my laptop which has an HDMI output to my monitor that has a DisplayPort input. What cable/converter should I purchase to accomplish this?

To connect an HDMI laptop to a DP monitor, you can use either an HDMI to DP adapter (such as our 128-HDMI-DISPLAYPORT) in addition to a DP cable of your choice, or a direct cable, such as our 2m HD2DPMM2M.
In an other post, you mentioned having a Dell P2213F. That monitor works in 1080p and supports DP, DVI and VGA. In this particular case, you could even use an HDMI to DVI solution instead, such as our HDMIDVIMM6. HDMI and DVI being inter-compatible, this solution is actually the easiest since it doesn’t involve any signal conversion (simply a connector change).
