DP2DVID active adapter - Static/digital noice?

Hi!

I have an old monitor (ASUS VG278HE) that supports 1080p in 144 hz via DVI-D. I recently upgraded to a new GPU (that of course doesn’t have DVI-D) and a new monitor but i wanted to keep the old monitor as a secondary one. I bought this adapter to be able to plug it into the GPU through the DP-connector. According to the specifications of the adapter it should be able to deliver 1080p at 120 hz at least. Mine barely delivers it at 60 hz. It feels very slow and if i turn it to anything over 60 hz the monitor shows static noice. I can still see some of the desktop behind it and it seems to almost work. But the screen is filled with this colorful static.

Am i doing something wrong or is the adapter not working as intended?

Nevermind, I solved it by creating a custom resolution using CVT- Reduced Blanking and disabling HDCP.
