KVM (VS231DPDDUA2) to DVI to DP converter DVI2DP2

We are using a KVM (VS231DPDDUA2) with one PC only having a miniDP output and another PC with only DVI. We are trying to use DVI2DP2 to convert the DVI to DP with little success when connected to the KVM. We know the DVI2DP2 works, connected directly to the monitor via DP we have video. However not when the KVM is installed. The first PC has 2560 x 1440 output and second PC (DVI) 1920 x 1200.

Thanks.

Hi @rpawelka and thank you for posting on our StarTech.com Community!

Since the adapter does work when bypassing the KVM, this could possibly be some type of interoperability issue that exists within the setup here somewhere. For testing purposes, I would ensure you are using the shortest possible video cabling (ideally no longer than 6ft.) for each connection. Also, confirm whether the monitor does show up at all within the Display settings in the Operating System. Also testing with an alternate host computer and/or monitor to see if that changes any of the behavior would be useful.

KVM issues can definitely become rather complex especially once involving video adapters into the mix. And as this would very likely require a level of troubleshooting that would be much more efficient in a live discussion, I would highly recommend reaching out to one of our Technical Advisors directly who would be able to assist in some live, real-time troubleshooting.
