SDOCK2U33RE Error indications

How do you know if there is an error when trying to duplicate an SSD in Stand Alone Mode? Both HDD Lights are solid blue, the Copy light is solid red and the indicator status bar is dark. When I push the start button both HDD LED’s start flashing red/blue as well as the progress indicator. Is there an error?

Hello @ssnguy and thank you for your interest in our Community.

Would this be what you are experiencing?

Once started, I would recommend to let it go for a while and come back later to it. You should eventually show the progress bar eventually solidify at the 25% mark.

I hope this helps! If you require any further assistance, I would invite you to contact our Support by chat or phone while in front of the device in question.

Hey EmmanuelB, That appears to be what is going on. I have let this go for over 3 hours with no progress. I am attempting it again and letting it go longer and will let you know. Just surprised that after 3 hours there was no progress. When I spoke with the supplier of our equipment, they say it usually takes them 1 hour to clone or duplicate the drive.

An update. So after 24 hours there is still no progress. Both drive lights are flashing, the 25% indicator is flashing. Apparently this is normal activity. I stopped the duplication process and used the duplicator as a dock. I checked the destination drive and it seems it has files copied on it and it appears that everything has copied. The source drive is a Windows 2000 drive that has been partitioned into 2 disks. Not sure if that is the issue or if something else is going on. I am going to get a larger destination drive to see if that makes a difference as to why this is not progressing. I am trying to make a clone of the drive as a backup for a piece of equipment to get it back running.

Hello @ssnguy ,

If the LED indicator never reached 25%, I believe your files didn’t actually copy, but rather they just appear listed there due to the dock having copied the index section of the drive (basically the manifest of all files).

Have you tried with another pair of source/target drive? I believe in this case, it would be important to determinate if this is a specific issue with only one source or target drive, or if this issue rather relates to the duplicator itself.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Hey Emmanuel! Thanks for the response. So I was thinking the exact same thing. I verified the files in place by only having one of the drives installed when I connected to the PC. Being curious I figured I would put it in the system and see what happens. The computer boots up into Windows 2000 and all the software for the machine appears to be in place. So I start the Machine Software and that starts up. Unfortunately the machine is down for a different issue but everything appears to be functioning.

I don’t know if it is how he SSD was set up, if it was a clone of a clone or what. It is a 480GB SSD that has been partioned into 2 drives and is only using 6 GB on each partition. I currently do not have any other disks available to test so I will have to go with it for now. Definitely a head scratcher.

Thank you for the update. Let us know if you require any further assistance and please have an excellent day!
