Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt adapter on MSI Z16 Creator... Blue screen

Hello,

I am trying to use this adapter (TBT3TBTADAP) on a new Win 10 64 MSI Creator Z16 laptop. It has 2 USB C thunderbolt 4 capable ports.

When I plug the adapter in the left side port, nothing happens. And plugging in the right side port results in a BSOD.

Here’s the Whocrashed anlysis result :

Thanks a lot in advance !

Hello Nanolab, thanks for posting on Community! Unfortunately, the TBT3TBTADAP is not compatible with Thunderbolt 4 computers, per the compatibility notes from the product page:

I’m sorry I don’t have better news for you, but this isn’t something we expect to work correctly with a Thunderbolt 4 laptop such as the MSI Creator Z16. Hopefully, you can return the adapter if you’re within the return period of the place of purchase or repurpose it for use with a Thunderbolt 3 laptop. Additional information about the features and compatibility of this adapter can be found on the Technical Specifications tab of the product page here: https://www.startech.com/tbt3tbtadap

Thank a lot for your help !

Now to find if such an adapter exists somewhere…

My Startech is still used on another th3 laptop anyway.
