From your description, it seems like our Thunderbolt chassis may be connected to a non-Thunderbolt computer (or port).
Would it be possible to please confirm the brand and model of your laptop, as well as which port are you using to connect the chassis to? In order to work, this Thunderbolt chassis needs to be connected to a Thunderbolt 3 port (on a Thunderbolt 3 capable computer) and specifically use a Thunderbolt 3 cable (our provided cable will have a thunderbolt symbol on it).
