Hello everyone,
I have a epson TM-T88V printer and i want to make this a network printer, so i can printer from multiple computers. For that i use the Startech PM1115U2 print server.
On the computers i work with windows 10. i install him from the add printer function in windows 10. and follow every step at the end the printer is installed but i cant print because windows says there is been a error. Is there anybody with a sollution ?
Sorry for my bad english
Hello Vincent and thank you for your interest in our Community.
From what I can see, your printer should already have Network support according to the Setup Guide on page 2: TM-T88V Setup Guide (Printed in China) (epson.com).
However, I did notice that the support OS for this printer did list Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7. No mention of Windows 10. You may want to try it directly to your computer by USB first in order to verify if this printer does work on your computer, or even contact Epson’s support for an official statement on the matter.
Ultimately, network printing (directly or through our print server) will depend on if the computer can support printing on the TM-T88V when on Windows 10. I hope this helps! If you require any additional assistance, please feel free to contact us again.
Dear EmmanuelB,
When I connect the epson printer directly to the computer with the USB cable he is working.
But when I connect the printer to the Network printer he is not working .
So my conclussion is that the printer must work on windows 10.
Already thanks for your help.
With kind Regards,
Vincent
Hello Vincent,
That is definitely good news to hear that the printer works fine directly. In this case, I would recommend you to follow these steps to ensure that the printer is well configured in Network mode:
-
Navigate to the <b>Control Panel</b> and select <b>Devices and Printers</b>
-
Click <b>Add a printer</b> from the top menu
-
In the window that appears, select <b>The printer that I want isn’t listed</b>
-
Select <b>Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname </b>then click <b>Next</b>
-
Under <b>Hostname or IP address</b> enter the IP address assigned to the print server, then click <b>Next</b>
-
Windows will detect the TCP/IP port and move to the next screen automatically
-
On the <b>Additional port information required</b> screen, set the <b>Device Type</b> to <b>Custom</b>, then click <b>Settings</b>
-
In the window that appears set the <b>Protocol</b> to <b>LPR</b>
-
Under <b>LPR Settings</b> set the <b>Queue Name</b> to <b>“lp1”</b> then click <b>OK</b>
-
Back on the Additional port information required window click Next
-
This next step is the important one, you’ll want to make sure to select the same manufacturer and model as what is listed or used by your printer when directly connected by USB (for example, likely “EPSON” followed by “TM-T88V”, or “TM-T800 series” perhaps. If you are unsure which one to select, simply reconnect the printer by USB and verify the printer properties in order to verify which one it uses.
-
Once selected, Windows will install the printer driver, then click Finish
You should now be good to try printing. If you require any additional assistance, please feel free to contact us again.

Dear Emmanuel B.
I have tried ur sollution. He installed the printer correcttly but if I tried to print then he says Fault. In windows 10 he says no printer found. But with a webbrowser on the same ip adress he finds the printserver.
I was reading on the internet that there also been trouble with some windows 10 updates. Do you know anything about the and maybe thats the problem?
Thank you very much for youre help so far.
