Just setup the PM1115UW network print server, it’s detecting the printer and receives print jobs. The printer appears to receive the print job but the error light flashes, nothing prints.
I followed the advanced setup instructions. Ideas?
Hello @tspangl,
Thank you for posting on the Startech.com Community! I am sorry to hear about the trouble you are having with PM1115UW.
I would first suggest printing a self-test page from the print server to ensure it is compatible with your printer and is able to properly send the print jobs to the printer. To do this, press and hold the reset button for 8 seconds and then release it. If the test print is successful, a test page with the print server’s current settings will be printed.
To help determine our next steps if the test print is successful, can I please ask:
1. What operating system are you using?
2. When adding the printer, did you set the queue name to be “lp1” as described in our setup guide?
I would also welcome you to reach out to our support team via phone or live chat: StarTech.com Support. Live interactions through phone or live chat can help us to better understand what is happening, allowing us to provide the best support and can often have a quicker turnaround to a resolution. We can then update this post with the solution once troubleshooting has been completed.
We look forward to hearing back from you.

Thank you for your reply.
Can you please try deleting the printer in Windows then adding it again, but when you reach the “Additional port information required” screen leave the Device Type as Generic Network Card instead of using the Custom option that allows a queue name to be set? There are some situations where certain models of printers work better without a queue name being set.

Hi Lukas,
Getting the same result with the generic network card. Flashing error light on the printer.

Thank you for testing this.
If the test page when holding the reset button is going through and that the print jobs are making it to the print server as you described, then it is possible that the issue could be something within Windows.
What I would suggest doing next is to double check what driver is being selected when adding the printer, as it seems like this could potentially be an incorrect driver if the print job is making it to the printer then the printer indicates there is an error. It may also be worth checking with the printer manufacturer for if there may be a specific meaning for the error light you are seeing if there is a pattern.
