LPT1 added to Dell PC via PEX1P2 stays in 'error'

I downloaded and installed the printerdriver and restarted the PC … still an error is occuring when I try to print a test page. An old Zebra label printer has been connected. This Zebra printer has only an LPT and RS232 input, that’s why I bought this PEX1P2 card.

Anyone ideas?

Hello @Rik. We appreciate you taking the time to post on our Community forum.

We are sorry to hear that you experienced difficulty with our PEX1P2. Can you please confirm the following information?

  • What operating system is running on the computer?
  • What is the specific error you are seeing when printing a test page?
  • Lastly, what is the full model number of the Zebra printer being used?
Thank you in advance, and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi Atha, thanks for feedback!

Winver says: Windows 10 Version 1809 (OS Build 17763.2213)

I must say, I used Generic/text only driver since we send ZPL code to the printer which needs to be executed, not printed.

The printer is a 170XiIII with S/N : 7057976 and config/partNr: 170-104-00403

Hello @Rik

Thank you for your detailed response.

Can you please let me know if the PEX1P2 is seen with any errors in device manager?
Furthermore, has the PEX1P2 been tested with any other device apart from the Zebra 170XiIII?

I do want to thank you for your time and patience for help troubleshooting this device. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Well, it seems I don’t really find it in the device manager … (see attached picture)

It doesn’t pop up under ports (1) so maybe it is the ‘multifuctional device’ (2) ?

The PCI serial port (3) has been another test with a USB to RS232 device … that’s currently not connected.

Hello @Rik. Thank you for your response.

Can you please ensure the latest drivers are installed for this device?
