When a USB camera is connected to a Windows 11 PC that incorporates the board mentioned in the subject, we are experiencing issues where the communication is interrupted or becomes slow.
These issues did not occur on Windows 10, so we suspect there may be a compatibility problem between Windows 11 and your board.
Could you please let us know whether a driver specifically for Windows 11 is available?
If not, we would like to ask whether it would be possible for you to provide or develop a Windows 11–specific driver.
Hello @GakuShiramizu and thank you for your interest in our Community.
For this card, the available drivers are intended for Windows 7. Beginning with Windows 8, USB 3.0 support is built into the operating system, so Windows 10 and Windows 11 normally use their native USB 3.0 drivers rather than a separate StarTech.com driver.
If the Windows 7 driver has been installed on the Windows 11 system, please uninstall it, restart the computer, and then allow Windows to automatically detect and configure the card again using the built-in drivers.
I also recommend making sure that the card is running the latest available firmware. The firmware file and update instructions can be found on our website under the Drivers and Downloads section of this card.
In addition, please make sure the computer is fully up to date, including the latest motherboard chipset and USB controller drivers provided by the motherboard or system manufacturer. Outdated system-level drivers can sometimes affect USB device performance and stability.
As part of troubleshooting, it would also be helpful to test the USB camera on one of the system’s internal/onboard USB ports, and then test a different USB device (such as an external hard drive) on the PEXUSB314A2V2 card itself. This can help determine whether the issue is following the camera or the expansion card itself.
→ Should the issue persist after these steps, please contact our Technical Support team for a LIVE troubleshooting session, preferably while in front of the equipment in question.
I hope this helps, have an excellent day!
