I’m very much interested in buying a SVID2USB232 but I want to be sure (because of the twain-drivers) that I can use with other software like AmaRecTV, Virtualdub or eventually OBS.
Would I need to use other drivers than the twain-drivers ? Would that be the standard Windows / Linux (webcam) drivers ?
Does the SVID2USB232 outputs stereo audio ?
Thank you
Hello @Darwin4Ever , thank you for your interest in our Community.
I would like to confirm that the default drivers provided with our SVID2USB232 are already TWAIN compatible and will work with the majority of third-party software out there (Movavi, OBS, VLC, etc.).
Previously, we also added separate TWAIN-only drivers for our SVID2USB23 because they were distinct from the default drivers. We have continued this practice with the SVID2USB232 (located in the zip file), although it’s no longer necessary.
I hope this helps!

Hi,
Thank you for the reply !
However I’m confused about "are already TWAIN compatible ".
How should I read that ? Both Twain and Non-twain provided ? Or Standard non-Twain Windows / Linux Drivers compatible, which ones ? Recognized as Webcam ?
Could you elaborate a bit, and what about software like AmaRecTV, Virtualdub ?
Thank you
Hello @Darwin4Ever ,
They are both TWAIN capable and both drivers will list the device along with your web cams.
In other words: simply install the default drivers provided in our Download section (no need to touch the TWAIN folder) and the device will work as intended (with our software or with most third-party software as well).
I hope this clears out any confusion. Let me know if you have any further questions!

Hi,
Being an old standard, I’m trying to avoid TWAIN, reason why I asked if it would be recognized with standard Windows / Linux webcam drivers. Maybe I didn’t formulate it correctly. A mothertongue problem
Sorry for that.
Remains also my question : Does the SVID2USB232 outputs stereo audio ?
Thank you
Hello @Darwin4Ever ,
TWAIN support is simply baked into the device. TWAIN, DirectShow, UVC: these standards are all quite typically supported in most software and will work fine on modern operating systems.
So to answer your question: yes, simply install the default drivers for our device and it will be recognized alongside your web cams in standard Windows. However, no support for Mac or Linux (you would need an UVC-based device for that, such as our UVCHDCAP).
And yes, our SVID2USB232 supports stereo audio. Let me know if you have any further questions!
