USB Peripherals Not Working

Whenever I switch to my MBP, the peripherals connected to my dock stop working. This just started happening last night, and I didn’t update MacOS last night. I have used DisplayLink Cleaner to uninstall and then reinstall the driver. It’s still not working. Any advice?

Hello @NullVessel,

Thank you for posting on the Startech.com Community, I am sorry to hear about the difficulty you are having with our 129N-USBC-KVM-DOCK.

To help determine our next steps could I please ask:
- What is the year of your Macbook Pro?
- What version of MacOS are you using?

Something I would suggest doing in the meantime would be connecting the Macbook to the other host port on the dock to see if it works in the other port. I.e If the Mac is in port 1 and your other computer is in port 2, connect the Mac to port 2 to see if it behaves the same or not.

If it continues to act the same in the other port, try swapping the cables each computer is using to see if the behavior follows the cable or is still isolated to the Mac.

I would also welcome you to reach out to our support team via phone or live chat: StarTech.com Support. Live interactions through phone or live chat allow us to better understand what is happening, allowing us to provide the best support and can often have a quicker turnaround to a resolution. We can then update this post with the solution once troubleshooting has been completed.

We look forward to hearing back from you!

Thank you for the troubleshooting suggestions. I switched ports and switched cables per computer. I also tried one of the other 2 ports on my MBP to see if it happened to be the port I was using on the MBP. It continues to act the same.

One additional detail I left out of the initial post - the webcam connected to USB-A port on the dock has a flashing LED. The manufacturer troubleshooting indicates this is a connectivity issue.

I will call as you suggested but was hoping someone here on the forum had the same issue or resolution steps. The last time I called StarTech support they provided outdated instructions so it made troubleshooting that other issue more challenging, but I eventually got it to work on my own.

Thanks again!
